Canada Day Pancake Breakfast

Mount Seymour Lions prepare and serve a breakfast on the morning of July 1 as part of the North Shore Canada Day Parade Society’s event. Our club members are assisted by some family and our good friends from the Lynn Valley Lions Club. The event is certainly weather dependent and we have served anywhere from 700 people to well over 1,000 in the roughly two hours we are open before the parade gets underway. All net proceeds are donated to causes that are identified prior to the event each year. Over the past couple of years proceeds have gone to support organizations that provide services that directly benefit youth on the North Shore.

The event takes a lot of preparation and hard work but it is well worth it in many ways – like the happy smiles on the faces of the families who enjoy the breakfast and the festivities, and of course in the benefits to the community that accrue from the funds that are raised and donated.
